Lately we decided to give those custom maps a spotlight on our servers who have received a huge update or where the mapper is working hard to get his map done. Creating a map is a very time-consuming hobby and requires a lot of skills, especially for a game like NS2. We appreciate the work of the mappers and we love custom maps. Therefore we pick one map each month, that deserves to have the full attention from us. Promoted maps will have a high chance to be displayed in the mapvote (80% to be exact). Relaunching Wooza’s Hamsterwheel

It’s time to bring back Wooza’s Hamsterwheel server!

Wooza’s Hamsterwheel offers intense 16vs16 battles. Ideally for those who think 21vs21 is too much but 12vs12 on the other side too less action.
The server is also perfect for new players; Welcome and support them!
When the server is in a healthy state, we might add 10 spectator slots back. This is not sure yet.

Every succesful server requires seeders. Even tho this server was once very popular, things have changed and it needs time to bring back the server in it’s old shape.
Good times to seed Wooza’s Hamsterwheel are at 6-7pm UTC+1.

Find the Gorge Plushie – Event started

Once per day, we secretly hide 5 gorge plushies on a map. For every plushie you find, you win a game from the list below! But watch out, there is a lot of competitors hunting those sneaky plushies. You may get some hints on discord when the event is about to start. Also you can only win two games per day.

The event starts at Saturday, 29th April and ends on the 6th of May. That means, we’ll be giving away 35 games!

A new beginning

Good news, everyone!

With UWE’s recent decision to re-introduce the ‘ALL Tab’ in the server browser, we found the passion again to put more time into NS2. We’d like to present some community news and what we have been working on lately. We would also like to invite you to our second Gorge Plushie Event, starting this Saturday (2017-04-29). Read further down about the Event.

We also want to mention how important seeding is. Since there is the ‘ALL Tab’ again, we have the possibility to seed the server earlier. Seeders decide if the community can grow or not, and we are depended on you!

The Wooza Spirit

There are a number of notable differences between how Wooza servers are run and other hosters. This article aims to collect and explain the idea and logic behind it.

What sets us apart from other servers

For a while we tried different approaches. The well-known teamstacking problem was the one that broke most ideas. If a player goes out of line the first idea that comes to mind is to limit said players sphere if influence. Creating and enforcing rules, restricting movement/free speech and a tendendy to overachieve is the usual response. We tried a number of those and realised it doesn’t work.

What started as a pastime project back in 2013, became one of the best NS2 communities over the years. It has been a great time and I want to take this opportunity to thank you, our loyal community members. You kept NS2 and 24+ servers alive!

How-To: Create your own Shoulder Patch

Wooza now offers TSF recruits to draw a custom shoulder patch before they go to war.

You either can pick between three hand crafted patches Muse made or you send your own image! Follow the steps below to create your own shoulder patch.

Wooza Approved and Donator members will receive their unique shoulder patch in the week beginning from the 14th of August.

How-To: create your own shoulder patch

Step 1: Be creative!
Create an image (or use one from the Internet) with the dimension of 256x256px. Make sure to have a transparent background on your image. Preferred format is .dds but .psd or png are also accepted. Others are not supported, You can use Paint.NET for free and Paint.NET also offers you to save your badge directly as .dds file (Choose DXT5 format when saving.)

Server Status Gadget and Quick Join
